A perfect example of this is found in The Santa Clause trilogy of movies with the following quote... "Seeing isn't believing---- believing is seeing" . No matter how many times I hear this line in these movies it always makes me stop and think. Yes they are referring to Santa Claus but this can be related to many unexplainable things in the world. Things happen everyday that can't be explained but does everything have to make sense and be seen to be real and true. What do you think....do you believe?

Do you believe?
One of the most fun things about this time of year for me is watching Christmas movies....there is just something about Christmas movies- maybe its the fact that you only watch them once a year that makes them special or maybe its something more than that. Every movie has a message but Christmas movies always seem to have messages that really make you think.

The forgotten holiday
Can you guess what I am talking about when I say the forgotten holiday? What happened to that holiday that is the month of November? You know that one between Halloween and Christmas....I believe its called THANKSGIVING! For some reason everyone seems to forget this holiday. This is not only an important event in history it is also a great time for us to all stop and think about all of the blessings that we have. So before you start celebrating Christmas just yet take the time to celebrate Thanksgiving and be thankful for all the wonderful things in your life. I know I will...

Fall Favorites
Seeing as it is now "officially" fall (this is determined when I see leaves change colors and falling from the trees-haha) I just thought I would ask what some of peoples favorites things about fall are. There are many things that define this season: pumpkins, apples, leaves changing colors, cooler weather, holidays around the corner, corn mazes, festivals, football and many more. So I ask you what are some of your favorite things about fall?

Does this make me an adult?
With all that being said I would like to introduce you to my brand new car:

Even though I just got it I am in love with it (in case you couldn't tell by my previous comments) ..... the one down side is that it didn't come with any cute little hamsters - LOL

A true icon of technology

“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” Steve Jobs

From the mouths of Babes
As you know I am around children all the time because of my job and of course they always have something interesting to say. So I thought I would start sharing some of the things I hear on here to let everyone get their daily chuckle in. Just to warn you this will probably turn into a regular thing since they almost always have me laughing about something.
Today's story had to do with me being a "Princess". One of my little girls had given me a crown a few weeks ago and one of the other girls asked me today who's it was. When I said it was mine because I'm a princess she proceeded to tell me "no you can't be a princess". I asked "why not?" and she said "because you're not married to a prince". Therefore I asked her "well where do I find a prince to marry then"? She tells me "in a castle"...... I ask "where do I find a castle?" "In England" she replies. Making sure I have my info correct I verify with her "So I have to go to England, find a castle and my prince will be there?" And she answers "YES"! Anyone want to go to England?....

Contain Yourself
"Contain Yourself"......this is the slogan that you will see on the shopping bags of one of the best stores ever invented - The Container Store!!!! Now this company has been around for years but we have just now got one in our area. The Container Store opened its 50th store in Charlotte, NC last month and though I have only had a chance to visit once I am head over heels in love!
Anyone that knows me very well knows that I am a VERY organized person. I wouldn't necessarily call myself OCD when it comes to organization but I can't stand clutter or disorganization- everything has its place. For example- almost everything I own is either in alphabetical order, separated by color, style, type, genre, theme, etc. Friends ask me to help them organize things for them (and I catch myself doing it even when they don't ask-haha) To me it just makes life easier to be organized and it just makes me happy to see things all nice and neat.
So with all of that being said you can imagine my excitement of going to the container store. As soon as I walked through the door I knew that I would be visiting this place A LOT! This store is an organizational heaven on earth. They have everything you could ever think of and more. The store is divided into sections (surprise, surprise) based on what you're looking to organize. Everywhere I turned there was something else that was just the coolest thing ever!! They have some of the most unique containers/organizers that I've ever seen. I truly think that if I had the money I would probably own one of everything in the store-no joke. The prices are fantastic too!
Needless to say I highly recommend for everyone to visit The Container Store. And not to worry if you can't visit the actual store they have a website too- containerstore.com . See you again soon my new favorite store!

What is time?
Do you ever wonder how time works? Where does it go? It seems to go so slow at times and so fast at others. They say "time flies when you're having fun". This statement is probably one of the most true statements you will ever hear. When you are on vacation, at a party, spending time with friends, etc. you lose all track of time and before you know it's time to go home, the party is over and you're back to your everyday routine. This is all because you're having a good time and enjoying life! Which makes me wonder can we do this all the time? Even while going about our day to day life? Of course its still not going to be quite as much fun as a party, a vacation or just hanging out with friends but why shouldn't you have fun everyday too? So the next time you are going through the motions and feel that time is just dragging add a little fun and see how much quicker time starts moving.

Keepsakes
Cards, invitations, programs., etc. all otherwise known as keepsakes. Years of birthdays, parties, showers, graduations, Broadway shows and all sorts of other events that occur every year. We all have them tucked away in nice little boxes so we have keepsakes of these events. Now the real question here is do we ever go back and look at these keepsakes? You make a point of keeping these mementos but what are we really keeping them for if we never go back and look at them to relive these events. So I am challenging myself (and everyone else) to go look through your keepsake boxes and relive those special times that have occurred in your life. I have a feeling we're all going to be in for some great reminiscing!

Fall Fashion Future
Even though it is still summer for another month or so and I am definitely not ready to see my favorite season end.....fall has definitely hit the stores. Though I haven't done my fall shopping yet (have to wait till some good sales start!) I have noticed some trends for Fall 2011.
1) Safari- animal prints (on everything from tops, bottoms, accessories, and shoes) , animal motifs (mostly elephants) , "adventure" clothes (cargo pockets, vests, etc.)
2) Polka Dots- such a cute fashion trend that seems to never be gone from the fashion scene for very long
3) Crochet- crochet everywhere: sweaters, trim on tops & dresses, scarves, etc.
4) Fall colors- LOTS of reds, oranges and golds.....just like the fall leaves
5) Jewelry- still seeing a lot of statement pieces- necklaces, earrings, etc. along with "rose gold" as the newest metal trend
I am sure that the fashion experts will tell you that these aren't the trends of the season but this is just what one very fashionable consumer (me!) has observed in the stores so far for the upcoming season. So everyone enjoy the rest of summer and we will see where the fall season takes us.

Dancing through Life
Dance: a sport, an art, a form of entertainment- the list could go on and on. However for me it is not only all of the above but it is a part of who I am as a person. I have been dancing for as long as I can remember and once I started I never stopped. Starting at the age of 3 my parents decided to put me in dance after one of the assistant teachers at the local studio suggested enrolling me. They were unsure of it at first (I was a little on the shy side) but it didn't take long for them to realize that dance was what I was meant to do. Needless to say once dance became a part of my life it didn't take long for it to become more than just a part of my life. In fact, I once told my mom "I'm going to dance all the way through college" and wouldn't you know that's just what I did! After graduating UNC-Charlotte with my B.A. in Dance I have continued my dance career as a dance teacher & choreographer (which started at the age of 11 but that's a whole other story!) . Who knows where my life and/or career will take me over the years but one thing I know for sure is that dance will always be a part of my life in some way. I will always be dancing through life......

Hello Blogging World
Let's see facebook-check, twitter-check, blog- no check......well that is until now. After some pushing and prodding from my friends that were already on the blogging bandwagon I decided I would give it a try. Now we will see how well this goes but I can guarantee all of you that I will do my best at this new online venture of mine! Of course remembering to update will be the hardest problem along with the fact that I'm not quite sure what to write about either so you will just be in for a surprise every time you visit which I hope you do often! One thing is for sure- if it is something that involves Miss Lynne I can guarantee you its going to be interesting!!!!
